>Presentation Topic: Building resilience in difficult times: Lessons from the new normal
Evidence shows that our collective mental health has taken a toll during the Covid-19. According to WHO, some countries have reported a three-fold increase in the prevalence of the symptoms of depression in adults, with children and adolescents experiencing more difficulties in concentrating, irritability, restlessness and nervousness.
Resilience used to be a “good to have” skill, preparing our youth for the unknown and preventing mental health difficulties. With the unknown now the new normal, resilience has been upgraded to a “must have” quality for children, adolescents, teachers and parents.
What’s more, traditional protocols for resilience training passed down by experienced mental health professionals to classroom based children are now obsolete, since the classroom itself has become a relative notion and each one of us – an actor in building resilience in ourselves and others.
Based on the recent experience and evidence of teaching and supporting resilience remotely and in cost-effective ways, this keynote will outline major skills and tools for your personal and professional resilience toolkit.
