Dominic A.A. Randolph
Deputy Chair IPEN; Head of School, Riverdale Country School
Dominic A.A. Randolph became the sixth Head of Riverdale Country School in July 2007. He found the Character Lab–a non-profit sponsoring “translational research” on character strengths in schools. Riverdale has helped develop with IDEO, a design thinking toolkit, the Teacher’s Guild, and the Purpose Project. He has recently started “learning design studio,” Plussed+ that works on different educational projects globally. He has served on the boards of The Lawrenceville School, the Character Lab, International Positive Education Network (IPEN), and the Mastery Transcript Consortium.

This panel presentation and discussion will look at new research and insights on how school cultures can support student thriving from Professor Laurence Steinberg, Dr. Karen Reivich. and Professor Roy Baumeister. The panel will consist of short individual presentations with a brief group discussion. We hope that there will be ideas that will prompt an evaluation of school cultures and some ideas that could be translated into action by practitioners.
