Health and Safety Policy

International Positive Education Network (IPEN) Based in England

IPEN is committed to creating safe, healthy, and welcoming environments for everyone who engages with our work. Whether we are hosting conferences, running workshops, or collaborating with partners around the world, we take our responsibilities seriously and follow all relevant UK health and safety legislation.

Our Commitment

We work proactively to prevent accidents, injuries, and ill‑health by:

  • Assessing risks for all IPEN activities and events
  • Choosing venues and partners that meet appropriate safety standards
  • Providing clear guidance to staff, volunteers, and contributors
  • Embedding safeguarding considerations where relevant

Who Is Responsible

  • Trustees oversee IPEN’s compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Staff and volunteers are expected to take reasonable care, follow guidance, and report any concerns.
  • Contractors and partners must work in line with IPEN’s expectations and legal duties.

Reporting Concerns

If an accident, near miss, or safety issue occurs during an IPEN activity, it should be reported immediately to our Health and Safety Lead. We record and review all incidents to help prevent future risks.

Emergency Arrangements

For each event or programme, we confirm fire safety, evacuation routes, first‑aid provision, and other emergency procedures with the venue. This information is shared with staff and volunteers before activities begin.

Policy Review

We review this policy annually, or sooner if our activities or legal requirements change.
